On October the 18th, WEST started… virtually ! A rehearsal plasma session was organized in Control Command room to test the new organization in the control room that will allow the operation of WEST as an international test facility !
Early in the morning, teams of Scientific Coordinators, Session Leaders, Engineers in Charge, Data Acquisition & Processing officers performed the operations preparing the experimental day. A simulation of a normal plasma operation day was performed several times: from the plasma discharge configuration (through Xedit tool), to the validation of the pulse. This rehearsal gave a relevant configuration to validate systems and identify areas of improvement for the first plasma by the end of the year.
