The International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility (IFMIF) and its Engineering Validation and Engineering Design Activities (EVEDA) project, along with the Demonstration Oriented Neutron Source (DONES), represent critical advancements in fusion energy research. This presentation will provide an overview of the IFMIF/EVEDA project, which aims to validate the design and engineering of a neutron source capable of simulating the extreme conditions within a fusion reactor.
The presentation will also cover the DONES Programme, which builds on the IFMIF/EVEDA framework to further develop a neutron irradiation facility.
Key topics will include the technical challenges, collaborative efforts, and the strategic importance of these projects in advancing fusion energy as a sustainable and clean energy source. The presentation will highlight the roles of various international partners and the potential impact of these projects on the future of energy production.
