After a 4 year work inside the vacuum vessel, the last equatorial port (the one used to get inside the machine) of Tore Supra turned into WEST was closed this morning around 10:00.

On October the 18th, WEST started... virtually ! A rehearsal plasma session was organized in Control Command room to test the new organization in the control room that will allow the operation of WEST as an international test facility !

After several weeks of hot helium tightness test, divertor and baffle sectors are ready to be installed inside WEST vacuum vessel.

TINT, Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology, represented by its Executive Director Nisamaneephong Pornthep and CEA / DRF represented by Maria Faury signed a collaboration agreement in the field of Magnetic Fusion Research.

The first of the 12 baffle sector assembling was achieved on June the  7th  by IRFM team.
