From 27 to 29 september, progresses on Plasma Edge Theory were discussed in Marseille during the 16th International  Workshop on Plasma Edge Theory in Fusion Devices. This conference organised by Aix-Marseille University and CEA IRFM gathered around 70 experts on plasma theory of the edge region in magnetic confinement fusion devices. It reflected the present status of the theory for the boundary layer of fusion plasmas.  The emphasis were on the development of the theory, related numerical methods and modelling.  IRFM scientists presented their last results, as the impact of magnetic geometry and X-point configuration on edge plasma turbulence and transport in 3D first principle simulations.
