BOARD &

LODGING

Full board and lodging in Erice is provided for the duration to participants.

Accompanying spouses are welcome depending on the availability of double rooms. Participants should be aware that accommodation and facilities made available in Erice are modest, without being Spartan. Casual attire (no shorts) and, as the streets are cobbled, thick-soled crepe or rubber-soled shoes are recommended.

ACTIVITIES

Participants are earnestly requested to give early confirmation, together with the names, that spouses will accompany them to Erice. Excursion of visits to the neighbouring archaeological sites and beaches is offered by the Ettore Majorana Centre to the participants and accompanying persons.

TRANSFER

Free transfers from Palermo and Trapani airports to Erice are provided by the Ettore Majorana Centre. At Arrivals, look for the meeting-point poster "Ettore Majorana Centre". Go to the tourist office in the Arrivals area if you have any problems. Should you get Palermo by train, take the "Trinacria Express" train to Palermo Airport and go to the Arrivals meeting point. WEATHER

As Erice is situated on top of a mountain at an altitude of 750 metres, it is much cooler than at sea level. Even in Summer, the weather is rather unpredictable, temperature and weather conditions can suddenly change. A shining day can suddenly change in a cloudy day with fog (clouds being «trapped» around the top of the mountain).

EXCURSIONS

AND SOCIAL EVENTS

There is no extra charge for the social events or the excursion of the School. A keg of free Marsala wine is in the Piano Room (the small central room under the arches at the end of San Rocco Court) which may be used for informal meeting after dinner. All activities at the San Rocco Institute must stop before midnight. On the Arrivals day, there will be an informal welcome party in the Piano Room after dinner; Sicilian sweets and Marsala wine will be offered starting at 9:00 p.m.

For the excursion, the Bus pick up/drop off point will be the large parking area at Viale Pepoli (Porta Trapani).
