Two korean Institutes, new partners for the WEST project    

Within the framework of the WEST partnership, G. Fioni, Director of the Physical Sciences Division of CEA, has signed a letter of intent, which describes the main principles of the foreseen collaboration agreement, with two Korean research institutes NFRI (National Fusion Research Institute) and UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology).  The signing ceremony took place on the 3rd of December in Daejeon during a French-Korean workshop on Magnetic Fusion organized by the French embassy, the CEA and the KRCF (Korean Research Council of Fundamental Science and Technology).

NFRI and UNIST will be involved in the WEST research programme, with special focus on long durqtion plasma discharge studies in a full metal environment.

According to this agreement, Korean universities and research laboratories will have the possibility to join NFRI and UNIST in the WEST project.
